Payment
meemo makes paying for the service incredibly simple. Best of all, the payment process can be initiated either via mobile device or online from a personal computer. Please refer to the terms and conditions itemized below:
The payment process begins when you click Add to my phone bill but you are not actually charged a fee until:
You reply with the letter Y to the Terms of Payment agreement sent to your mobile device as an SMS (text message)
You receive an SMS (text message) confirming a successful charge has occurred.
By subscribing to meemo via either entry point, (PC or Mobile Device) you are accepting the Terms of Service and agreeing to pay a fee of $3.00 US for 30 days of service.
To continue to enjoy uninterrupted service your meemo subscription will be automatically renewed every 30 days until such time as you unsubscribe.
There is no price discrepancy between payment initiation points. The subscription fee is exactly the same whether you pay via your mobile device or online from your PC.
As mentioned, you may cancel your service at any time by sending an SMS (text message) to 74265 with the word Stop in the body of the message. However, no refunds will be issued for any days of service remaining on your account.

FAQ's
Payment
How much does meemo cost?
Following a 21 day trial period, we are offering meemo to subscribers for $3 (US) per month.
How do I pay for meemo?
You can add meemo to your mobile phone bill directly through the meemo website.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, you must accept a contract. Since the transfer of documents via mobile devices is impractical, you are asked instead to respond to an SMS (text message) in lieu of a written contract. A positive response to this message implies that you have accepted the Terms of Service and the charges. To see an example of this, please refer to the section on How to Register.
Can I pay with my Credit Card?
At this time, meemo does not accept payment via credit card.
Are there any other costs associated with using meemo?
Yes. Standard data access charges from your mobile service provider can apply, however most carriers offer a variety of low cost monthly data plans. The plan will determine how much you pay for viewing web data with your mobile browser. These plans usually allow a certain amount of data access per month in much the same way that typical phone plans allow a certain amount of voice minutes each month. Check with your mobile service provider to find the option that is right for you.
How can I cancel my subscription?
You may cancel your subscription at any time. You can login to www.meemo.com and click Unsubscribe under the Payment tab, or text Stop to 74265.
Am I given a refund if I cancel before the end of the month?
meemo does not issue refunds. If you cancel prematurely, you are still billed for the entire period for which you subscribed. If you feel your situation is of an extenuative nature refunds can be issued at management’s sole discretion.
Registration
How do I register for meemo?
You can register for meemo directly from our website. All you need to do to get started is text the word meemo to 74265, and meemo will send you an activation code to use on our website. For a detailed explanation of the entire registration process, please refer to the Registration section of this help centre.
Can I use meemo without registering?
No. You must register before you can use meemo. Registration is the basis for meemo’s personalized service. By registering, each individual user can securely access his/her email, configure which email accounts to scan and at what times to be notified of new mail, etc. However, you can sign up for our 21 day trial and see meemo for yourself!
What information must I provide in order to register?
When you register, all meemo requires is that you choose a meemo username and password, and that you enter your email account (it’s as easy as logging in to check your email!). If you wish to configure an email account that uses Microsoft Exchange or a unique domain name you will need to know your Incoming Mail Server (this is usually something like mail.domainname.com).
What happens if I forget my password?
Click the Forgot Password button next to the login field on our home page and enter your mobile number. Your password will be sent directly to your mobile device!
Email Accounts
How many email accounts can I use with meemo?
You can set up two different email accounts for use with meemo, both of which must be accessible via POP3 or IMAP.
What type of email providers are compatible with meemo?
Virtually all email providers are compatible. meemo supports Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail and even Microsoft Exchange. Just make sure POP3 or IMAP access is enabled for your account. (Some email service providers may charge for this, so remember to check with yours if you are unsure.)
Hotmail accounts created after 2005 require the use of Live Hotmail Plus from Microsoft. Live Hotmail Plus is a paid premium service that provides a larger mailbox, POP3 access and many other features. For more information please visit this URL: http://get.live.com/mailplus/features
Accounts created prior to 2005 should work, but we have found a few that don't. If you find that you are unable to authorize your Hotmail account after repeated attempts, please contact meemo support. We are working hard to determine why some older accounts are not supported for meemo access.
How do I get meemo to work with my Gmail?
Please ensure that your Gmail account has been set up to permit POP3 access. To confirm this please login to your Gmail account at www.gmail.com and follow these steps:
1. Once logged in click on the Settings link in the upper right corner.2. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.3. Ensure that POP is enabled in the section labeled POP Download. If POP is not enabled pick one of the options to enable it.4. Ensure that next to the label “2. When messages are accessed with POP” that the item “keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox” is selected.5. Click on Save Changes.
I have registered for meemo so why am I not receiving notification of new emails on my phone?
There are several factors that can prevent you from receiving such alerts on your phone. First, check to make sure that your phone’s Inbox is not full – meemo cannot deliver messages to you if your storage is at capacity! Second, if you have an email client like Microsoft Outlook checking your email, it must be set to leave a copy of your mail on the server. Similarly, an email must be marked as unread on the mail server or meemo will not generate an alert.
Lastly, we ask that you be patient – processing a newly added email account may take several minutes to complete.
I already have email capability on my device so why do I need meemo?
If you are able to send and receive email on your mobile device, then chances are you do not need meemo. But before you dismiss it outright you should consider the price and functionality of your current service. Are you paying less than $3 (US)? Are you able to open images and documents that arrive as attachments? Can you set up calendar event to trigger alerts directly to your mobile device? These are some of the features that make meemo a great choice for mobile email.
The meemo Service
If I send an email using meemo, does the recipient need to have the same service?
No. You can send email to anyone in the same way that you normally would if you were using your computer and it will arrive without fail. However if the recipient has subscribed to meemo, it will also arrive to their phone.
Do I have to pay for the notification messages meemo sends me?
No. When you receive messages from meemo on your phone you do not pay for them. meemo does. When you send an email through meemo it is done through your device’s web browser, for which data charges from your carrier may apply.
Will my emails arrive in a timely manner?
Following the initial provisioning process, meemo will check your email accounts at the interval and frequency which you define and configure. Every time meemo sees new mail, it will notify you by sending a message to your mobile device.
Will meemo work anywhere in the world?
At the present time meemo provides service in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada and the United States.
How long does it take to activate meemo?
Once you have completed the registration process, your account is activated and you should start receiving messages within the half hour. If you are setting up a second email account you will need some time to configure it as you did the first one.
Can meemo open attachments?
With meemo you can open image attachments, PDF files, and MS Word documents. Some devices may experience rendering issues and irregular character display.
Why are the links meemo sent me invalid or unavailable?
Part of how meemo handles security is by expiring links after either a single click through or after 24 hours have elapsed, whichever occurs first. You can still read emails for which the links have expired by logging in to meemo. The emails remain in your meemo inbox for a couple of days, at which point the system will remove them.
Can I follow hyperlinks that appear in the body of my received emails?
Yes. meemo’s unique technology does allow you to follow these links but once you are taken to another site, you must re-login or follow a link in another message from meemo to return to your meemo inbox. The device’s own “back” key will not re-open your meemo session.
Known Issues
Attention Blackberry, Palm Treo and Apple iPhone Users:
Meemo is available for use with these devices. Alerts received by these devices can sometimes be improperly formatted due to small inaccuracies in the device profile. In the event that you are not receiving notification of new mail, contact our Customer Support Team and we will adjust your account’s settings accordingly.
Email Account Conflicts
Adding the same email account twice will cause meemo to stop delivering messages to your mobile device. Removing either entry will resume regular email notification for the other one.
Spam Filters
Some email providers have filters which can cause some of your incoming emails to be incorrectly moved to your junk mail folder or some of your email sent from within the meemo website to appear as junk mail in the recipient’s mailbox. As meemo does not scan junk mail folders for new emails, users should be aware that they will not be alerted of any incorrectly junked mail.
Unsupported Users
Currently, meemo is only available for users in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada and the United States. Other international users are not yet supported.
Hotmail
Hotmail accounts created after 2005 require the use of Live Hotmail Plus from Microsoft. Live Hotmail Plus is a paid premium service that provides a larger mailbox, POP3 access and many other features. For more information please visit http://get.live.com/mailplus/features.
Accounts created prior to 2005 should work, but we have found a few that don't. If you find that you are unable to authorize your Hotmail account after repeated attempts, please contact our Customer Support Team. We are working hard to determine why some older accounts are not supported for meemo access.
Glossary
What is an SMS?
SMS stands for “Short Messaging Service.” An SMS is a brief text message that can be sent and received by most mobile devices on the market. Sending an SMS is sometimes referred to as “texting.”
What is a text message?
A text message is another term for SMS. They are used interchangeably.
What is a WAP push?
WAP stands for “Wireless Application Protocol,” and a WAP push is sometimes referred to as a Service Message or Browser Message. A WAP push is very much like an SMS (in that it is a short text message sent to or from a mobile device) but a WAP push can also contain extra data in addition to the text message. Commonly an internet hyperlink is sent inside a WAP push. Your mobile device might give you the option to “follow” or “go to” this link and open it in the device’s web browser.
meemo subscribers who are on a network that allows WAP and who have a handset that supports WAP may receive email notification as a WAP push instead of an SMS. However, not every phone on the market is able to receive these kinds of messages.
What is an International Country Code?
An International Country Calling Code is a 1- 2- or 3-digit number that represents countries and dependent areas, and is used in data processing and telecommunications.
What is POP3?
The “Post Office Protocol” version 3 is used by email clients to retrieve emails from an email server. meemo uses POP3 or IMAP (another kind of email protocol) to scan your email account for new mail, which is why your email servers must allow POP3 or IMAP access.
What is SMTP?
The “Simple Mail Transfer Protocol” is the protocol that servers use to transfer emails over the internet. Email you send from meemo can be sent via your email provider instead of the meemo email server if your email provider has an SMTP server which allows public access.
What is a service message or a browser message?
These are other interchangeable device-specific terms for a WAP push.
What is a mobile service provider?
Sometimes referred to as a Mobile Carrier or Mobile Operator, this is a company who provides cellular services to your mobile device. Examples include Rogers Wireless and Bell Mobility.
